‘Willfully Misleading the Public’ – RedState

As RedState reported this Saturday morning, there was another shooting in the city of Minneapolis involving federal law enforcement. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that a Border Patrol agent shot a protester multiple times. The protester was apparently armed with a handgun.

According to a news conference held after the shooting with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, the 37-year-old died, and the development further fomented the unrest that gripped the city following the shooting two weeks ago of anti-ICE activist Renee Good.

As of this writing and according to live media coverage, protesters are refusing to leave the area and appear to be growing in number. Almost immediately after the incident, calls to remove ICE from Minnesota came from the gallery of rogue politicians who were fully complicit in this Minneapolis mess. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz demanded that President Donald Trump remove ICE (the incident involved Border Patrol, not ICE) from his state. Other Minnesota lawmakers, like Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-05), called the shooting an “execution” and said ICE and the Border Patrol were “uncontrolled federal forces” who are “murdering our neighbors.” Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D), a candidate for governor, demanded that Republicans and Congress “stop being silent” and “stop being complicit.”

Omar’s message X read:

This appears to be an execution by immigration law enforcement. I am absolutely heartbroken, horrified and appalled that federal agents murdered another member of our community. It is beyond shameful that these federal agents are targeting our residents instead of protecting them. This is not isolated or accidental. The Trump administration is trying to subjugate us rather than protect us. This administration cannot continue to violate constitutional rights under the guise of immigration control. ICE and CBP must leave Minnesota immediately. Their presence terrorizes our communities, violates rights and takes lives without any accountability. Minnesota was once a place of refuge, and Trump has turned it into a war zone where unchecked federal forces are murdering our neighbors.

“Border Patrol agents are extremely well trained to protect themselves, their colleagues, and innocent third parties. When a supposedly “peaceful” protester brings a weapon (such as a loaded handgun) and brandishes it, they will [be] serious consequences and repercussions. We pleaded with the media and politicians and warned them that their irresponsible, hate-filled and misleading rhetoric would risk needlessly hurting people, or worse, killing them when they portrayed our agents and officers as aggressors. They have encouraged these reckless confrontations and attacks against our agents and officers who carry out their lawful duties and enforce the laws that Congress has passed. The dishonest fake media and shameless politicians should be held accountable for deliberately misleading the public and attracting these protesters and agitators. We are confident that when more facts are revealed, it will be demonstrated that our agents and officers used justifiable force to eliminate the threat. »

CBP’s Bovino lashes out at Democrats during Minneapolis press briefing

Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino and Border Czar Tom Homan have issued similar warnings, imploring politicians and mainstream media to end misleading rhetoric that costs lives rather than saving them. Based on the Frey/O’Hara press conference and the intensifying attacks on Border Patrol and ICE, they don’t seem inclined to do so.
