When creating an event, Calendar will now display suggested meeting times based on attendee availability, work hours, and existing commitments. If guests later decline or conflicts arise, Gemini can offer the organizer a new recommended time directly within the event, allowing the meeting to be rescheduled without leaving the calendar.

This feature builds on Google’s broader desire to weave Generative AI deeper into its Workspace tools, moving routine tasks like planning, drafting, and summarizing to automated support.

Calendar already uses AI for features like smart event creation and time information, but this update gives Gemini a more active role in managing changes after a meeting is created.

Google said the new meeting suggestions are gradually rolling out to eligible Workspace users, with wider availability expected in the coming weeks.
