When it comes to self-care and overall health, staying hydrated is at the top of the list (along with getting a good night’s sleep). But in reality, reducing those ounces of H2O is sometimes a challenge. As silly as it sounds, having a water bottle that you love can help you stay hydrated much easier. And Mashable’s favorite water bottle, the viral Owala FreeSip, just got a major upgrade with the addition of Owala Tattoos.
Buy any Owala pet bottle or bowl, and now you can choose to engrave, print, or add a full sleeve to your water bottle. And perhaps best of all, this addition only costs $10. Here’s how to design your own emotional support Owala bottle. Keep in mind that creating a personalized bottle for a friend could win the best gift award.
Customization Options with Owala Tattoos
Owala gives us a free creative range to add something permanent to our water bottles. The Owala Tattoos salon allows you to engrave, print or add a complete sleeve to the Owala product line.
The laser engraving option engraves text, a logo or artwork into the bottle for a finish you can physically feel. You can also add more than one engraving element to the bottle without the price increasing. I added text and an Owala tattoo to a single bottle and adjusted the placement so the two didn’t overlap.

The option to print on an Owala gives you access to the extensive library of tattoo artwork, which includes nature, animals, holiday themes and much more. You can add artwork to both the front and back of the bottle.

The “Heated Rivalry” fleece is coming – we all begged Canada to release the fleece and they are delivering
The long-sleeved Owala Tattoo option wraps around the two largest FreeSip Bottles (32 and 40 ounces), FreeSip Twists, 24-ounce Cups, and 12-ounce Kids Cups. The full cover catalog has the smallest library of options, with 22 designs available. You can also upload your own designs and illustrations to add to an Owala bottle.
Not all bottles can be personalized with the full selection of options. For example, you can only engrave the Owala Pet Bowl and the 40-ounce FreeSip Tumbler, which means you cannot add artwork or a full sleeve to these products. You must also choose to either engrave or add artwork to a bottle, as it is not possible to add both to one product.

How to Make Your Own Owala Bottle
Owala has made making your own personalized water bottle a breeze and really, really fun to play with. Simply head to the Owala Tattoo landing page and scroll through the list of bottle options that vary in size and price. You can also personalize children’s bottles.
How much does it cost to personalize an Owala?
There’s some good news on the pricing front, as Owala tattoos are much cheaper than IRL tattoos, and as an added bonus, they’re painless. Personalizing a bottle comes with a flat fee of $10. This means a 32-ounce FreeSip will increase from its standard price of $34.99 to $44.99 for adding color printing, engraving, or adding your own design. And remember, you can add more than one piece of art or engraving on a single bottle, so don’t hesitate because you’ll still pay the $10 fee regardless of single or double design.
Keep in mind that it is not possible to return or exchange Owala Tattoo bottles as they are personalized.
