A man and a small dog were found dead in a mobile veterinary van in Queens Sunday morning, and another man was found unconscious just outside the moving vehicle — possibly overcome by fumes from the generator as they treated the puppy, law enforcement sources said.

Cops and paramedics arrived at the confusing scene at 65th Avenue and Parsons Boulevard. in Flushing around 9:25 a.m.

They found a 57-year-old man and a dog dead inside the Low Cost Vet Mobile and a 73-year-old man unconscious outside, police said. The man outside the van apparently rolled over and fell unconscious., although cops are still investigating what happened, police sources said.

A generator could be seen just outside the front of the Ford E350, which was parked against a thick snow bank on the driver’s side. Investigators were looking into whether people working in the van did not have adequate ventilation when the generator was running, police sources said.

A sign on the van reads: “Danger. LP [liquefied petroleum] gas storage. No smoking or flames within 50 feet.

Cops have not yet revealed the name of the dead man.

Medics took the unconscious survivor, identified by a colleague as Garo Alexanian, to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens in stable condition. Alexanian is the founder of the mobile veterinary service.

A co-worker who answered the door at Alexanian’s nearby home said the dead man was a veterinarian.

“I worked with him on several occasions,” the worker said. “I’m just in shock right now, like everyone else. He was a nice guy. He would go out of his way to help you. He would do anything for the animals as a veterinarian… He was just an overall nice person.”

The worker said he believed the deceased veterinarian was performing emergency surgery on a dog in the van, removing a mass from its paw, and that Alexanian may also have been present.

“I know there were at least two animals in there. We have one that’s still alive. We put him on support fluids and warmed him up,” the worker said.

Regarding the dead dog, he said sadly: “It was a little white Scotty dog like you see on (a) Little Caesar commercial…. He was having surgery on his paw. He had a mass on his paw.”
