Best Prime Day deals on Thunderbolt docks & USB-C hubs: Final chance!

Amazon’s first-day sales offer one of the best opportunities of the year to conclude offers on the USB-C platforms and quays and their more powerful cousins, Thunderbolt reception stations. All of them offer significant and necessary means to extend the ports of your laptop and connect inherited devices such as printers and mice.
It is your last day to seize the advantage of discounts – the offers end at midnight Pacific on Friday July 11. Although most of the best sales we have found were on Amazon, checked Amazon and its main competitors for the best offers.
I write, test and recommend the best Hubs and Dongles USB-C, and I do the same for the best Thunderbolt quays. In recent years, I have been responsible for finding the best offers in the two categories for the first days of Amazon, Black Friday, and more. I think it is just to say that you will find the best offers of the USB-C and Thunderbolt home station here. Confused? Check the FAQ below.
Below, you will find a list of tenders, as well as a list of frequently asked questions explaining what you should look for. This is an interesting transition period! I do not expect anything unusual in terms of USB-C Hub price. The Thunderbolt quays, however, are another story: Thunderbolt 5 arrives on the market, and the older products Thunderbolt 3 (which are still somewhat viable) are being progressed. And yes, there are prices, which are in flow – although some have simply been launched today and more can take effect on day 2 of Amazon first -day sales.

- Anker Prime TB5, 14 in 1, load 140 W, $ 339.99 (15% on Amazon)
I appreciate flexibility in my choice of reception station, and now Startch’s Dock offers the most flexibility of the port, just like TBT4-UDZ de Plugable, examined here. (I reviewed an previous quay Startch, but not this one.) I really like Uilleen equipment, but it’s more a center, and you will have to buy display cables that take its USB-C video connections and translate them into HDMI. They are about $ 20 per cable.
Oddly, I still haven’t examined Microsoft’s surface care station. But I used these specific quays or which is very similar, and I think you will be satisfied with everyone on this list. Just make sure they offer the ports you need at the price you want.
Techadvisor, our sister site, loved the Caldigit TS4, which is always expensive but on a decent sale.
Best day offers on Dongles and USB-C hubs
The number of offers has widened, so I separate the traditional “dongles” from the others below. Anker and Ucreen are best rated brands that I have personally used, so simply select everything that corresponds to your budget.
Best day offers on USB-C USB reception stations
These are more traditional and larger reception stations for your office, and something you prefer if you want more ports or in some cases dedicated power. The 10-in-1 of Plugable is a solid platform on a solid affair, but it is a little more unsightly than the Baseus spacemate. I also added the Wavlink quay for flexibility.
I reviewed the Quai 11 in 1 baseus spacemate listed here, and I liked it, even if it seemed a little unnecessarily over-designed. Note that the price when I examined was $ 199.99, so the discount is a bit misleading – it is closer to half the initial price. Note that the 11 in 1 provides its own charger; The 9 in 1 hub does not do so. The Belkin quay offers a ton of charging power.
Best day offers on DisplayLink mooring stations
All these DisplayLink mooring stations, which means that you can use them with a laptop with a generic USB-C port. You will only have to install a software driver first. (The story linked to a more complete explanation.) These are essentially more powerful versions of a GENERICS USB-C reception station such as the bench of Gan Belkin 11-in-1.
My choice at the moment is the Wavlink, with a support of three 4K screens. Wavlink offers a cheaper model ($ 112.49 at Amazon) but just with 4K’s support on a screen and 1400p through others. It can be good too!

Why should I buy a USB-C hub or a Thunderbolt home station?
Laptops have generally started to replace all inherited ports (the USB-A square, HDMI sheet, SD card locations, and more) with generic USB-C ports. That’s good, but what happens if you have a cable printer or an external mouse or SSD? You will need to connect it to your laptop, and you may need the right physical port connector.
If you have an SSD or a quick external hard drive, external flow will certainly help you get the most out of your device. And if you want to connect several screens, you will need a USB-C hub (and preferably a home station) with the support of two display connectors.
How do you know if you have to buy a USB-C hub or a Thunderbolt home station?
USB-C poles and Thunderbolt quays use the same physics USB-C connection. A USB-C port (and a Hub or Dongle USB-C) use a basic connection of 10 Gbit / s, while a Thunderbolt port increases the flow to 40 Gbit / s. Ideally, you should see a small “lightning” icon signaling a Thunderbolt port, while an unmarked port can just be a USB-C generic port.
Manufacturers, however, are not forced to label their ports. Your best bet is to take out the manual from your laptop and check.
Thunderbolt quays will only work with a Thunderbolt connection. You can buy a Hub or a USB-C Dongle and connect it to a Thunderbolt port, but it will only work at the speed of 10 Gbit / s.
USB-C hubs, Dongles and mooring stations: What is the difference?
I use hubs and dongles interchangeably to describe the small devices hanging your USB-C port with a short cable. A reception station is generally large enough and sufficient for it to stay on your desk. Almost all Thunderbolt devices are large enough to be considered as reception stations.
You can buy USB-C mooring stations that lack Thunderbolt connections, but it is a little rarer. A home station also generally includes a charger so that you can use it instead of your laptop charger.
My laptop at USB4, not Thunderbolt. Can I use a Thunderbolt quay?
USB4 and Thunderbolt 4 are functionally the same. Intel refuses to certify non-line platforms like Ryzen for AMD Thunderbolt, and the new Microsoft Copilot + PCs fed by Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Chips are in the same boat.
USB-C hubs work with essentially anything with a USB-C top. Don’t worry at all.
How do I know if I should buy Thunderbolt 3, 4 or 5?
Thunderbolt is compatible behind, so you can have a laptop with Thunderbolt 4 and connect it to a Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 3 Dock without worry. It is not however compatible forward. While Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 transfer the two 40 Gbit / s, it is probably preferable to play it safely and match your port specifications to the specifications of the device.
How will the prices affect the prices of the Thunderbolt quays and USB-C poles during first days sales?
This is the big joker. The United States has interrupted its reciprocal prices on foreign products until July 9, the second day of the first day agreements of Amazon. At that time, it is anyone who can guess what will happen.
Many centers and platforms are made in China, which has been a main tariff target for this administration. On the other hand, the manufacturers of docks and rains specifically told me that they had also moved the manufacture of China. But consider: Caldigit announced its TS4 reception station in 2022 for $ 359.95. Its current list price: $ 449.95, and it is “on sale” on Amazon for $ 379.
Unfortunately, it has become even more complicated, practically overnight. Some dock and hub manufacturers have moved their manufacture of China and Taiwan in Vietnam, and the Trump administration has just set a 20% tariff on goods imported from Vietnam, and 40% on goods transported in the country. It’s just not clear exactly which However, the company manufactures its products in Vietnam or China.
There is probably a safe response to avoid prices: buy early to avoid paying the possibility of a tax on additional import.
Some of these quays have had bad reviews on shopping sites. For what?
While Mac adopted Thunderbolt first, part of the Apple M1 silicon could not follow the Intel Thunderbolt controllers used by Windows PCS, and Apple MacOS’s experience has suffered accordingly. If you see a negative comment, try to determine if it is a Windows user who does it. The experience can be completely different.
Are the best offers from Dongle Thunderbolt and USB-C on Amazon?
Historically, yes. I verify other sites, but in recent years, Amazon has always offered the best offers on these two categories of products. This is not always the case; Best Buy, for example, is often very competitive in ChromeBooks.
