Preliminary Report Shows Pilot’s Possibly Fatal Decision May Have Caused Crash of Air India Flight – RedState

A preliminary report shows that the fatal accident in June of the flight 171 of Air India could have been caused by the error of one of its pilots who, for any reason, seems to have extinguished the fuel for the two engines a few moments before the accident.

The results published on Friday of the probe on the accident that left more than 240 dead, with a survivor who left, noted that the engine fuel cutting switch returned in a few seconds after the plane took off from Sardar Vallabhbhai International Airport Patel in Ahmedabad, India, before the line plane crashed in a neighboring neighborhood later.

An early evaluation of the voice and the data recorder of the plane would have excluded a kind of design or mechanical failure failure, the NYT reported in the history linked above.

The report indicates that “there are no recommended actions” for manufacturers of aircraft and engines, Boeing and General Electric.

“In the recording of the cockpit voice, one of the pilots is heard asking the other, why he cut” fuel, said that the report of the India’s plane accident investigation. “The other pilot replied that he did not do it.”

The report continued:

The engine supply to the engine is controlled by two switches in the cockpit. From about 10 seconds after the fuel cut on the Flight 171, the data recorder shows that the switches have been moved to activate the fuel. But the plane could not take power quickly enough to stop its descent.

Each switch is equipped with a locking mechanism which is supposed to prevent accidental movements, experts said. To light the fuel supply, the switch must be pulled out, then moved to a “run” position, where it is released and withdraws in a locked position. To turn off the fuel supply, the switch must be removed again outwards, moved to the “cut” position, then released.

According to the report, the fuel control switches were disabled “one after the other” at about a second rear, and “the plane began to lose altitude before crossing the wall of the airport perimeter”.

“The N1 and N2 engine has started to decrease their take -off values because the fuel supply of the engines has been cut,” added the report.

Times noted that it could be months, perhaps years, before a final conclusion was reached.

As Redstate reported, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, to London, took off on June 12 and a few seconds later, collapsed in a medical college before exploding in a giant fireball. The accident killed 241 people on board and ten dozen on the ground.

Miraculously, a man moved away from the accident and later recalled the horrible test, saying: “Everything happened so quickly.”

The senior police official Vidhi Chaudhary told Reuters that the survivor is the British National Vishwash Kumar Ramesh. Ramesh is listed like the passenger seated in 11A on the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner who crashed Thursday in a neighborhood a few minutes after the plane took off from Ahmedabad, killing more than 240 people on board.

He continued:

When I got up, there were bodies all around me, “Ramesh said at the local media in his hospital bed.” I was afraid. I got up and ran. There were pieces of the plane all around me. “”

“Someone seized me and put me in an ambulance and brought me to the hospital,” he added. “Thirty seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise, then the plane crashed. Everything happened so quickly.”

Later, a video surfaced showing Ramesh walking in the neighborhood and far from the accident, with blood visible on the head and clothes.
