Crazy! This Acer 2-in-1 laptop with 32GB RAM is now under $500

RAM prices are crazy right now. I can’t find 32GB of DDR5 laptop RAM for less than $300 on Amazon. But if you head over to eBay, you can find a refurbished Acer laptop with a touchscreen and 180-degree hinge for just $492.89. Not only is this a huge reduction from the original retail price of $880, but it’s barely more than you’d spend on memory alone! I’m not crying, you’re crying!
The Acer Aspire Spin 14 is a solid Raptor Lake laptop with a 10-core processor and, yes, 32GB of RAM, plus a 1TB SSD. Both of these prices are about double what you’d find on a regular laptop in this price range. And this one also includes a 14-inch 1920×1200 touchscreen, a built-in stylus, and a decent 53 watt-hour battery – I’d guess between 8 and 12 hours, depending on exactly what you do with it. The integrated graphics aren’t going to wow anyone, but should be able to handle a bit Minecraft (if you go easy on the mods).
At 3.3 pounds, it’s actually not too heavy for a 14-inch 2-in-1, although the Aspire Spin 14’s ports aren’t great. You get a single USB-C port, two USB-A ports, and a full-size HDMI, and… that’s it. It also doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor, and I can’t find anything about Windows Hello facial recognition in the webcam. That said, I still wouldn’t balk at this price.
Especially since it arrives via Acer’s official eBay store, with a one-year warranty (although it’s via Allstate). This is often the compromise on refurbished laptops. But at that price, I would take it. If you prefer new, I suggest this 15-inch Asus laptop, which has less RAM but also a lower price.
