A 62-year-old man was killed early Friday while trying to cross the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx — one of two fatal crashes in the city within a half-hour, officials said.

EMS took the driver of the Suburban to Montefiore Medical Center with minor injuries. No charges were immediately filed.

All lanes of southbound Major Deegan were closed for several hours while police conducted an investigation.
