Trump T1 smartphone re-emerges with new specs and higher price

President Donald Trump’s iconic smartphone has made its grand(ish) comeback, this time with new specs and a higher price.
In a new interview with The Verge, Trump Mobile executives Don Hendrickson and Eric Thomas revealed new information about the device for the first time since last year. In the interview, Hendrickson and Thomas revealed that the phone’s screen will measure around 6.8 inches with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 chipset, 512 GB of onboard storage (with expandable storage via SD cards), and a 5,000 mAh battery. They also claimed that the selfie camera and main rear shooter were both 50 MP lenses, and The Verge speculated that it could also have an ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens on the back.
How would the Trump T1 phone compare to the iPhone 16?
There is good news and bad news for anyone looking to get a T1 in the near future. The good news is that Hendrickson and Thomas say the product could start shipping to early buyers by spring. The bad news is that the device’s $499 list price is apparently reserved for early adopters, and later buyers will have to pay an unspecified higher price. Additionally, despite early marketing claims, both executives confirmed in this interview that the phone not be made in the USA after all.
Crushable speed of light
It should be noted that all of these details should be taken with a degree of skepticism, given historical precedent. The T1 was supposed to launch six months ago, but has been largely silent since then, likely because the phone shown at The Verge looks nothing like the one announced on its website last year. Its design, specifications, and price have all changed since its original launch date.
Regardless, we should have a better idea of whether or not the above is true within a month or two.
