Leaked specs for Sony’s next flagship wireless earbuds reveal ANC upgrades

The WF-1000XM6 will be powered by a new QN3e processor that is “three times faster” than that of Sony’s WF-1000XM5 headphones launched over two and a half years ago. The upgraded processor will offer improved ANC performance as well as the addition of two more microphones, giving the WF-1000XM6 eight in total. The new headphones will also feature “a new speaker, an improved DAC, and an upgraded amplifier,” according to billbil-kun.
The battery life of the earbuds themselves will still be eight hours with ANC enabled, which can be extended by a further 16 hours using their charging case, matching both the WF-1000XM5 and 2021’s WF-1000XM4. As revealed last week through early photos, Sony is also refining the size, shape and ergonomics of the WF-1000XM6 so make it more comfortable to wear with “insulated tips” that could provide a better fit. When connected to the Sony | Sound Connect, you will also have more control over the sound of the music thanks to an equalizer that goes from five adjustable bands to 10.
