Subaru observations suggest an intrinsic gap in NGC 5466's tidal stream

Astronomers from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) and elsewhere used the Subaru Telescope to conduct in-depth imaging observations of a distant globular cluster known as NGC 5466. The observational campaign provides important information about the cluster’s tidal current structure. The new results were published on February 4 on the arXiv preprint server.
