Jennifer Newsom Goes Full Angry AWFL on Female Reporters; Even Gavin Seemed Embarrassed – RedState

Few things are more annoying in life than a sanctimonious AWFL, and that’s especially true since this AWFL happens to be the hypocritical wife of the governor of the most populous state in America, where they have very large megaphones.
Jennifer Siebel Newsom, who we’re supposed to call California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s “first partner,” is typical of many Democratic women in positions of power and influence in describing herself and her husband as strong advocates and champions of women.
One area in particular where Ms. Newsom is most proud of her work is in so-called “reproductive freedom,” pushing to ensure that women in the Golden State have essentially unfettered access to both an abortion and the funds to obtain one after the June 2022 Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wadeand after the 2025 OBBB, federal funding for Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood clinics was essentially eliminated.

On Wednesday, the Newsoms held a press conference to tout the governor’s signing of a bill providing $90 million in “emergency funding” for Planned Parenthood in the state. They were surrounded by Democratic lawmakers, Planned Parenthood members, and even had a “Stop Trump’s War on Women” sign taped to the podium.
Governor Newsom proclaimed that “California values women, their choices and their fundamental right to health care… [The state’s] the latest investments support Planned Parenthood and protect access to critical resources for women and families across the state.
At one point, however, Jennifer Newsom threw a tantrum at the assembled press, who happened to be mostly women, chastising them for doing their job by daring to ask questions that weren’t all specifically related to the governor’s signing of the bill:
We just find it incredulous that, uh, we have Planned Parenthood here, and women make up 51 percent of the population, and the majority of the other questions – all of these questions – are actually about other issues.
So it’s just fascinating that we have this incredible women’s caucus and these incredible allies, and you don’t ask any questions about it. This happens over and over and over and over again. You wonder why we’re waging such a horrible war against women in this country, and why these guys get away with it. And you don’t seem to care. So I just offer this with love.
Watch:
Wow-
Jenifer Siebel Newsom, CA’s senior associate and wife of the governor, criticizes the press at the California Capitol for not asking questions on the subject during a Planned Parenthood press conference.

For anyone who may not have caught it, go back and watch the video to see Gavin Newsom’s reaction. He looked embarrassed by his wife’s little tantrum. LOL. Perhaps even funnier is that he “didn’t respond to her and continued to answer off-topic questions after she said that,” according to KCRA reporter Ashley Zavala.
But while the governor’s reaction was amusing in its own way, the best came from other journalists who turned to X to share their pointed thoughts:
It’s ridiculous. Journalists ask questions, and while you can dictate your answer, you can’t control the questions people ask.
If you don’t want to be asked questions, write a press release with a few canned quotes and be done with it. 🤷♀️ https://t.co/pEJfPhjtsl

In this great year of 2026, longtime public officials still wonder why journalists ask important questions. https://t.co/aywwfA4agS

Unsurprisingly, at the same press conference in which Jennifer Newsom insultingly angered the AWFL against female journalists over their alleged contributions to the so-called “horrible war on women” in America, she refused to comment when asked about the Epstein files:
Gov. Gavin Newsom told reporters today that he reached out to Casey Wasserman’s team and said he looked forward to speaking with him amid the fallout from the Epstein files.@LaurelRosenhall asked First Associate Jenifer Siebel Newsom if she had any comments on the situation, she did not. pic.twitter.com/CGSc8eIikV

So yes. She won’t comment on a notorious sexual predator, but she will lash out at female journalists for asking her husband uncomfortable questions. Make sense of this.
Ms. Newsom wants you to know that she truly cares about the safety and security of women, all of you. Except for those who stand in the way of the Newsom family’s political agenda and upward mobility, as RedState editor Jennifer Van Laar reminded us:
The way you care about your husband’s secretary, @JenSiebelNewsom? You know, his best friend’s wife?
“But I’m not going to blindly support a woman who has repeatedly cheated on her husband and watch my boyfriend be the one to be punished.” She fainted outside her door. Come on guys, have a heart. I’ve tried to see Ruby’s side of the story but unfortunately everyone near her has stories and says she’s bad news. “

FLASHBACK: Here are Jennifer Newsom’s disgusting comments about the employee Gavin had an affair with while he was mayor of SF
You just couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried. You just couldn’t. And that’s not even taking into account that Jennifer and Gavin also don’t support women’s rights to play sports and change in locker rooms without having to be ogled or possibly hurt by a man pretending to be a woman invading their safe spaces.
Don’t go crazy, Jennifer Newsom. Leave. And do us even more of a favor by taking Sparkle Beach Ken with you.
Editor’s note: The 2026 midterm elections will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both houses of Congress.
