Man arrested after backyard target practice bullets hit neighbor’s house and horse

A 28-year-old Martin County man was taken into custody after bullets struck a neighbor’s house and struck a horse during his backyard shooting practice.
Felipe Pascual-Andres was accused of shooting into an occupied residence after the incident.
Investigators said Pascual-Andres was practicing with a newly purchased firearm at his residence. Three shots missed their target and headed towards a neighboring property, damaging the house and hitting an animal.

A bullet passed through a door and wall of the neighboring residence, eventually landing on a kitchen window sill inside the home.
A second shot hit the back porch of the house. A third bullet hit a horse on the property, but the animal is expected to recover.
No one was injured in the shooting. Pascual-Andres told authorities he was using his backyard to practice shooting with the new weapon.
As a result of the investigation, Pascual-Andres was taken into custody and transported to the Martin County Jail.
