A Saturday evening fire in Logan Square resulted in the displacement of 12 adults and 10 children from their homes, Chicago police said.

Around 8:55 p.m., firefighters and police responded to a fire in the 2000 block of North Hamlin Avenue, near a residential building, which spread to another building. Firefighters extinguished the fire and treated two people who did not require hospitalization, according to police.

The American Red Cross came to the scene to help the displaced people, police said, and heating equipment was brought to the scene.

Police said the Chicago Fire Department would investigate. No further details were immediately available.
