But three anonymous military officials told CBS News that the base at Shuaiba Port in Kuwait, where the soldiers were killed, was not only unfortified, it was not a base at all: it was a triple-wide trailer surrounded by four concrete walls. They said the trailer was struck directly from above and engulfed in flames. Two of the three officials also said they did not hear any of the warning sirens that were supposed to go off, even though the siren had been working properly for a few days. There was also no rocket defense system capable of preventing the attack.

It is becoming clearer with each passing day that this war is being waged on the fly by individuals whose thirst for activism trumps any sort of measured, planned action. And if the reports from these officials are true, Americans are being killed because of it.
