Drinkbox Studios’ Blighted will be out for Switch 2 and PC this fall

During today’s Nintendo Indie World presentation, we got a narrower lead time on when and where we’ll be able to play Drinkbox Studios’ next project. The team announced that Devastated will be released this fall on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. It will arrive on the same date on both platforms, but we do not have a more precise schedule than the season.

We heard for the first time Devastated during last year’s Summer Games Fest. With past credits such as Guacamelee!, Guacamelee! 2 And Cutthe studio is now turning to a 3D Metroidvania-RPG. It may be a new direction in the genre, but Drinkbox’s signature brooding and eerie vibes seem to be coming back in droves ever since Devastated. The basic premise of the game revolves around the player finding lost shared memories and also eating brains, so it’s definitely heavy on the surreal and slightly macabre. Devastated will also have options for single-player and cooperative play in its story.
