That’s a very good question. I have to give it to him, he’s right about that. And what I take from that is that you’re really going to see some very deep schisms opening up here, because part of the conservative movement is absolutely stunned by the enthusiasm over the bombing of targets in Iran and the killing of people in Iran and so on.

And yet there is a MAGA contingent that just doesn’t want to get it, for all the reasons you mentioned – given that Trump’s own lines about all of this, which we listened to earlier, show how unprepared they are for what’s about to happen. Where does it go from here? It looks like we’re potentially facing a quagmire, and we’re seeing MAGA get even angrier at his fellow conservatives who are going to continue to support him no matter what, right?

Suebsaeng: What Donald Trump wanted was a very successful, very fast-paced, gangster-like drive-by shooting – something you can see in one of Grand Theft Auto’s PlayStation games. That’s what he wanted, something like that, that’s what he envisioned in this project.

And now he finds himself embroiled in a long, costly, spiraling and bloody people’s war with different factions in different countries, where he and his administration are not the only ones who control the timetable, how far it goes and when it will stop. And that’s what really pisses off a lot of his supporters in the MAGA upper class – because he very clearly bites off more than he can chew, and everyone, here and abroad, knows it.
