One day after a brazen shooting inside a Family Health Center Clinic in Central Fresno, exclusive video obtained by Action News shows the horror unfolding in real time.

Security footage from a nearby business shows three people running out of the clinic and into the parking lot.

They are just one of the four dozen people police estimate were inside at the time of the shooting.

One of those witnesses, Maria Nava, said “I saw a lot of people with their kids, we were on the floor yelling, ‘Run! Run!, get down! There’s a shooter!.”

Employees and patients rushed to get to safety, Nava says one of them helped her and her son find a way out.

“There was a nurse in front of us, she opened the door for us and we were able to get out through the back,” Nava said.

This terrifying moment is believed to be seconds after police say 69-year-old Bounlab Thammavong opened fire.

Less than five minutes later, the first group of Fresno Police officers arrive on scene.

The newly obtained video captured the moment they surrounding the door as witnesses gathered around, before eventually making their way inside.

It was then that officers would find the victim, a female employee in her 30’s, suffering from several gunshot wounds.

She was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where she remains in critical, but stable, condition.

Fresno Police took Thammavong into custody at the scene and recovered the gun used inside the exam room where they say the shooting took place.

Thammavong faces four felony charges with a bail set at more than $1.5 million.
