Woman arrested for murder of man, 59, inside Queens supportive housing

A woman with a history of drug abuse has been arrested for murdering a 59-year-old man inside the Queens supportive housing building where he lived, authorities said Sunday.
Odeylin Gonzalez, 33, is accused of killing Felipe Gonzalez Gonzalez inside the Barbara Faron Residence, a nine-story building on Nameoke Ave. near Redfern Ave. in Far Rockaway.
Gonzalez allegedly choked and murdered Gonzalez Gonzalez sometime over the two days before he was discovered dead about 2:30 p.m. Jan. 30 with visible injuries to his face and head.
The building houses former homeless people in recovery from behavioral health disorders — and the victim was living on the straight and narrow, a law enforcement source said.

The suspect, who police say lives in a house about three blocks away, was a “persistent problem in the building,” the source said.
Despite their similar last names, the victim and suspect are not related, the source said.

The city Medical Examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide on Feb. 6 and cops arrested Gonzalez on Feb. 25.
She remains held without bail until her next appearance in Queens Criminal Court April 28. She is charged with murder and criminal obstruction of breathing.
