Trump Talks Up SAVE America Act at GOP Conference – RedState

On Monday, President Trump delivered a speech at the Republican Membership Issues Conference, held this year at the Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami. Some highlights included a summary of events to date in Operation Epic Fury, as well as some remarks on the critical nature of the SAVE America Act. (Later, you will see that the president emphasizes the capitalization of “the” in the law.)
First, on Operation Epic Fury:
“We crush the enemy with an overwhelming display of technical skill and military force,” says @POTUS on Operation Epic Fury.

The president said:
We crush the enemy with an overwhelming display of technical skill and military force. Iranian drone and missile capabilities are completely demolished. Their navy is gone; everything is at the bottom of the ocean. 46 ships, can you believe it? Actually, I’m a little angry with our people, I said, what quality of ships? Excellent, sir. Top of the range. I said, why didn’t we just capture the ship? We could have used it. Why did we sink them? They said it was more fun to sink them. (Laughs) They prefer to sink them. They say it’s safer to sink them. I guess that’s probably true. But think about it, we knocked out 46 and it actually took three and a half days. Their terrorist leaders are gone, or they are counting the minutes until they leave. Think about it, we had leaders, and they left. Then we got new leaders, and they left. And now, no one has the slightest idea who the people who will lead the country will be. And we will not give in until the enemy is totally and finally defeated.
This last part is encouraging; If one engages in these kinds of operations, it is best to go in knowing that the only way to win is to completely and utterly destroy the enemy’s ability to wage war. That’s what we did in World War II, and that seems to be the goal here.
As for ships, I wouldn’t be eager to try to board a ship full of Islamist weirdos and take it by force. Better to just sink them.
Now, on the SAVE America Act:
.@POTUS: “I want to thank the Republicans in the House of Representatives for passing another common sense measure – for me, the simplest of all – the SAVE America Act, to protect our sacred American system. [elections]”. pic.twitter.com/NwulvgQI8q

The president said:
I want to thank the Republicans in the House for adopting another common sense measure, for me the simplest of all. The SAVE America Act. (Applause) To protect our sacred American, watch this! Look! It’s the simplest thing we have, I can’t… It’s the simplest thing we have. Now the problem is you’re calling the SAVE Act. And no one knew what the SAVE Act was. And you saw, I worked overtime last month, it’s called The, capital The, SAVE America Act. And I saw (New York Democratic Sen.) Schumer yesterday: “We will stop SAVE America!” (Laughs) He’s getting killed. They can’t do it.
The SAVE America Act is currently stalled in the Senate, and President Trump has warned that he will veto any bill that comes from Congress until the SAVE America Act is on his desk. We’ll see.
We continue in this vein:
WATCH: @POTUS sets out the five common-sense measures of the SAVE America Act:
“This is priority number one… This is actually a serious matter of national survival. We can’t let this election happen like this anymore.” https://t.co/AFxG03qQHg pic.twitter.com/hyHKdllUiI

These five things. Five things. Voter ID, citizenship, mail-in ballots, no mail-in ballots. RIGHT? We don’t want men playing women’s sports. It must be close to one hundred percent. We don’t want men playing women’s sports. No transgender mutilation of our children. Now this should be the easiest thing you’ve ever done. Each one is the best of. The best of Trump. This is Trump at his best. I have some (numbers) that are very popular, but I wouldn’t put them in that category. This is priority number one. It should be for the House. And I’d like to ask Tom, Steve, Mike, all of you, if you’d like, I’d like you to come back, and Lisa – hello, honey. (Laughs) She was shouting to confirm what I had said. The child has gone crazy. She was so happy that someone finally said, “Let’s vote on this,” Lisa, you’re going to make it. OK, I’ll count on you, forget the men up there, I’ll count on you. But this is actually a serious question of national survival. We can no longer let these elections happen like this.
That’s for sure.

It was a speech from Trump in his usual inimitable style; you can see the whole thing here, if you like. And the president is not wrong about the SAVE America Act; it could well prove crucial to the Republican Party’s success in the midterms, assuming it can be passed, signed and signed into law by November.
As for that, well, that’s anyone’s guess at this point. Count on your participation, because it will be key.
Editor’s note: The 2026 midterm elections will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both houses of Congress.
