Many tech brands tout their active noise cancellation (ANC) headphones, but none have reached the standard set by the Bose QuietComfort series. For my money, Bose makes the best ANC gear, and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen) are the best ANC headphones you can buy right now.

The downside to Bose headphones is that they are quite expensive, but you no longer need to spend $300 to get great ANC. Although they’re an older model, the first-generation Bose QuietComfort Ultra Bluetooth headphones are still a great choice. They received an “Outstanding” rating from PCMag, not only for their best-in-class ANC, but also for their overall excellent audio quality, spatial audio support, and support for various Bluetooth codecs with AAC and AptX, making them perfect for Android and Apple users. However, they’re not perfect: they lack multi-point connectivity, like other high-end headphones at this price offer, and there’s no wireless charging for the case (if you’re interested).

These are the features that really set these headphones apart. They feature a CustomTune feature that measures the shape of your ear canal to tune the sound and establish your best ANC profile. (You can also make your own changes in the companion app.) Bose’s “Immersive Audio” feature lets you hear your surroundings the same way you would when wearing open-back headphones.
