Broncos bring back former 6th-round draft pick

The Denver Broncos continue to bring back their internal free agents.
The Broncos are re-signing defensive lineman Matt Henningsen, according to the Denver GazetteIt’s Chris Tomasson. He is the second restricted free agent to return today after not receiving an offer, joining tight end Lucas Krull.

The lowest tender was worth $3.52 million this offseason, so it’s understandable why Denver wouldn’t want to commit that much to Henningsen or Krull. Both players became unrestricted free agents after the new NFL championship year kicked off Wednesday afternoon, but the Broncos quickly brought them back (presumably for much less than the cost of a tender).
