More than 3 million years ago, when our ancient ancestors, embodied by the iconic Lucy, roamed the African landscapes, they would have been afraid of a big, bad crocodile with a big hump on its head, lurking patiently in the rivers and lakes to attack them. According to a research team led by the University of Iowa, this crocodile is a new species.
