KPop Demon Hunters is getting a sequel, obviously

Get ready to get even more K-pop, more demonic and as hunter as possible. Netflix’s hit, Oscar-nominated animated film Demon Hunters KPop is back for a sequel, with fictional Korean girl group HUNTR/X returning to release pop hits and crush evil boy bands (and/or other demons).
Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans will once again direct this one, their first project under an “exclusive, multi-year writing and directing partnership” with Netflix.
Given that the first film was Netflix’s most popular film of all time, the company’s biggest theatrical release and first-ever No. 1 at the box office, nominated in the Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song categories at this weekend’s Oscars (and apparently a lock for at least one award, if not two), and the song “Golden” topped the charts in over 30 countries and held the No. 1 spot on the U.S. charts for 18 non-consecutive weeks out of six months last year, this sequel is probably just the next step among many.
Kang confirms this, telling Netflix’s Tudum: “There’s so much more to this world that we’ve built, and I’m excited to show it to you. This is just the beginning.”
