Around 14K without power after powerful winds move through the region

Around 14,000 people were without power in the region on Saturday morning.

As of 4 a.m., 14,042 AES Ohio customers reported a power outage, according to the AES Outage Map.

In a statement Friday evening, AES officials said crews were assessing the damage and working around the clock to restore power.

“Due to the extent of the damage, we advise customers to anticipate a restoration process that may take several days. Some outages are complex and require multiple repairs before service can be safely restored. In addition to our local crews, mutual aid crews from other utilities will assist in the restoration efforts,” AES said.
