One Of America’s Most Insane Local Politicians Just Won In DC
Despite an imminent corruption scandal, the former member of the Washington Board DC Tlayon White Sr. obtained his headquarters on Tuesday after being expelled previously following an arrest and a burden of the FBI.
White was arrested in August 2024 for an accusation of federal corruption, which prompted a unanimous vote by the DC Council to expel it in February. But since he had not been found guilty of a crime, he was authorized to present himself in the special elections against candidates Mike Austin, Sheila Bunn and Salim Adofo, according to the Associated Press.
While some thought that the accusations would land his campaign, AP projected White the winner with just under 29.5% of the votes on Tuesday evening, because Axios reported that around 12% of local voters had revealed themselves. The contracts would have been $ 5.2 million linked to two companies providing violence intervention services in the city.

White has had met a “confidential human source” since June 2024 and accepted four separate payments during these meetings, according to the press release. An arrest affidavit of the FBI DC field office showed an image of white that allegedly taken on camera during one of the meetings and placing a white envelope containing $ 15,000 in cash in the pocket of its jacket after the confidential source has given it.

White has since pleaded not guilty of corruption charges, his trial should start in January 2026.
