Araghchi calls for permanent end to current, future attacks on Iran, demands reparations for war

“This scenario cannot happen again,” warned Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, affirming that “reparations will be paid” once the war is over.
Iran will demand assurances that all attacks will stop and that reparations will be made for war damages before agreeing to end the conflict, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told the Qatari newspaper. Al-Araby al-Jadeed on Sunday.
Araghchi stressed that he was not referring to a short-term ceasefire – he was demanding an indefinite end to US and Israeli strikes against Iran. “We will end this war when we are certain that it will not be repeated, and that requires a decisive and definitive end to the war,” he said.
According to Araghchi, the previous ceasefire allowed the United States and Israel to come together to attack the regime again. “This scenario cannot happen again,” he warned, affirming that “reparations will be paid” once the war is over.
Araghchi also mentioned that reparations must be paid to end the war, something the President of the Islamic Republic Masoud Pezeshkian had already stated last week in a message on X/Twitter.
“The only way to end this war is to recognize Iran’s legitimate rights, payment of reparations and firm international guarantees against future aggression,” Pezeshkian wrote on the matter.
Araghchi: “The war must stop and not repeat itself”
According to Araghchi, Iranian demands to end the war are not conditions but “what reason dictates.” He explained that from Iran’s perspective, “any idea worth considering must include sufficient guarantees to completely end the war.”
Furthermore, he explained that he had “no specific predictions” about the end of the war. “What I know,” he declared, “is that this war and our defense will continue wherever and whenever necessary. »
Beyond the end of the war, Araghchi asserted that “even continuing the war in the current situation has become a dilemma” for the United States and Israel. “They did not understand that the Islamic Republic does not rely on a single person or a few individuals, but rather on a strong and robust structure,” he said.
“I think they found themselves trapped in a situation from which they see no way out,” he shared.
Iran is even ready for a further escalation of hostilities with the United States, with the regime “anticipating the entry of American ground forces into our territory,” Araghchi said, adding that the IRGC “will know how to confront them” in the event of a U.S. ground invasion.

A regime in complete stability, says Araghchi
Asked about the possibility of a collapse of the Islamic regime and US-Israeli hopes for an uprising of the Iranian people, Araghchi said the regime “enjoys complete stability and strength.”
Although a large number of regime leaders and soldiers have been killed so far in the war, he said there has been “no upheaval because the system is established and consistent.”
“I believe that no one has any hope of change and that there is no longer any question of radical reforms in Iran,” he said, alleging that “the secret of the strength of the Islamic Republic of Iran lies in its united and ever-present people.”
Araghchi further claimed that Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is “in excellent health, in control of the situation and present at his post” despite rumors that he was injured.
On Friday, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave a speech in which he said Khamenei was “injured and likely disfigured.”
“He is afraid, he is injured, he is on the run and he lacks legitimacy,” Hegseth said of the Supreme Leader.
Still, Araghchi said “everything is under control.”
“We have principles on which we cannot compromise, the most important of which is our independence,” he said. “While others might be willing to give up our ambitions, goals and achievements simply because they want to,” the Iranian regime will not do so, Araghchi said.
