Police, Border Patrol arrest two for online incitement against Israel, support for Iranian regime

Two suspects, a 22-year-old man and a 35-year-old man, were arrested after monitoring of their social media accounts revealed that the suspects were praising the Iranian regime’s attacks on Israel.

Israeli police arrested two individuals on Saturday suspected of online incitement against the State of Israel and support for the Iranian regime.

In coordination with Border Patrol agents in the West Bank, police made two arrests after Israeli Central Command began monitoring suspicious social media activity on the suspects’ accounts.

Social media monitoring revealed that the suspects called for harm against the State of Israel, encouraged acts of terrorism, and supported the Iranian regime’s attacks against Israel.

Suspects arrested for praising Iranian regime and encouraging Hamas terrorism

The first suspect, a 22-year-old man, was arrested after detectives and Border Control agents raided his home. The suspect was then transferred to the police for further questioning.

The second suspect, a 35-year-old man, was arrested after being located along Highway 60 by the IDF 97th Battalion before being transferred for further questioning.

According to Israeli police, an investigation into the activities of the second suspect revealed that he had encouraged an individual with ties to Hamas to carry out terrorist attacks in the West Bank.

The suspect also praised former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Iranian regime’s actions against Israel during Operation Lion Roaring.

Since Operation Roaring Lion began on February 28, Israeli police have arrested more than 30 people for similar incidents of inciting and supporting terrorism online.
