PARIS (AP) — The French Rugby Federation has filed a complaint after being targeted by a cyberattack linked to a phishing campaign.

The FFR, which has some 350,000 members, said on Tuesday that it had responded quickly to the attack with a series of security measures and that it had not directly affected its computer systems.

The phishing campaign targeted members.

The FFR indicated that it was also contacting the French independent authority responsible for data protection and the competent government services.

“Investigations are currently underway to determine the number of members affected and the nature of the data potentially involved in the incident,” the federation said.

It is the latest cyberattack targeting a French sports organization after the French Football Federation was also hit last year, leading to the theft of member data.
