Caitlin Clark’s groin injury puts All-Star Game in jeopardy

The weekend of the WNBA All-Star is only a few days old, with the anticipation of the favorite of the birthplace Caitlin Clark as captain of the Clark team for the match in Indianapolis palpable among the fans.
Nothing like a muscle pulled to moult the buzz.
The goalkeeper of the Indiana fever superstar caught his right groin and seemed to hold back the tears while she went out with 39.6 seconds to play in a victory against the Connecticut sun on Tuesday evening.
“”[Clark] I felt a little something in the groin, “said fever coach Stephanie White.
The teammate Aliyah Boston tried to console Clark as she headed for the stanchion basket and patted her forehead before sitting and covering his head with a towel. She did not speak with journalists after the match.
This is the fourth leg injury of the season for Clark, which has an average of 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and five rebounds per game. She missed five games – including the Cup Commissioner Championship – due to a left -off tension and missed five games with an injury to her left quad. She also missed the opening of the pre-season of the fever on May 3 due to the tightness in her quad.
Before this season, Clark, 23, had never missed a game at the university or the WNBA due to an injury. She played the 139 games at Iowa, then 46 games in a row to start her WNBA career.
“It was mentally difficult, just, you know, stay there,” said Clark to journalists on July 8 before returning from the left groin injury. “I have been here for hours and hours in a few hours to try to do my body well and do everything I can to put myself in position to be available the rest of the year.”
The fever plays the New York Liberty on Wednesday at the Barclay Center before the star match, which will be played on Saturday in Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the female arena. Clark should also participate in the 3 -point competition on Friday.
Clark and Napheesa Collier du Minnesota Lynx were appointed captains of the stars teams and written the lists after obtaining the most fans votes. Clark finished with a record of 1,293,526 fans and collar votes received 1,176,020.
