CNN Data Guru Crushes Democrat Dreams, Delivers ‘Reality Check’ on 2026 Election – RedState
Democrats are counting on a great victory in 2026 to get their party out of political purgatory, but things do not go exactly as planned. The CNN data guru, Harry Enter, offered a “verification of reality” on Wednesday, citing the current voting numbers compared to what we saw in 2018.
Traditionally, out of power parities have an advantage over several fundamentals in the mid-term elections. This does not materialize, however. Not yet, anyway, and as I will discuss, it’s a big problem for Democrats for a simple reason.

I have to wonder how well is loved at CNN, since his work often becomes in annulment the unbridled stories of his leftist colleagues. Anyway, 2006 is not a very interesting comparison, in my opinion. The presidency of George W. Bush had completely collapsed at that time, and a republican wiping was inscribed in the stars long before the voters went to the polls.
2018 is a little different in that Trump has always benefited from a large support of his base and the party as a whole, which Bush had lost, but the Democrats were able to clean with independents. If the Democrats want to feel good around 2026, they must start to see the trends resemble 2018, but the generic ballot shows only a minor change, a change that could easily be explained by the same type of survey error that we saw in 2024.
Enen continues by emphasizing, the siege analysis by siege does not favor the Democrats either, and this situation could worship them very soon. As the Redstate reported on Tuesday, the governor of Texas Greg Abbott called a special session with the express intention of redrawing the districts of the State Congress. The wait is that the Republicans collect at least four seats, if not five. This alone could be decisive in 2024.
All this is terrible news for Democrats for a simple reason: they have very little or no playing cards to radically change the political environment.
They have already lost their heads on Trump in two dozen different ways. It is only so many times that you can mumble “fascist” before the voters roll their eyes and adjust it (and we have exceeded this point). Likewise, they lose the narrative battle on illegal immigration because the results do not lie. The economy is not yet gangbusters, but it is not a tanking either, which the Democrats had to assert their arguments. In other words, it seems that they have pulled all their blows and are always in the elbow and the neck with the Republicans in a scenario where they need be well in advance.
So what now? No more success CNN? More tears that Trump is a “threat” for democracy? These figures are a bad sign for Democrats, but never underestimate the capacity of the Republicans of the Congress to find a way to lose.
