Ankle Boots and Ankle Jeans Are Spring’s Most Logical Combo, Per Cameron Diaz
With the return of 2016 fashion, ankle boots are once again having a special moment. Cameron Diaz is proof that they go together with cropped pants and ankle-length jeans.
On March 19, the 53-year-old actor was spotted filming a new project in New York City, wearing a pair of cream suede ankle boots with a slightly casual scrunch that perfectly matched the vibe of his cozy flannel button-down shirt, oversized cardigan, and baggy hobo bag. I could tell because you see most of the boot thanks to its straight ankle jeans.
As Charm As we’ve already noted, ankle-length jeans are on the decline as puddle hems dominate spring 2026 denim trends, but any shoe girl knows that ankle-length jeans are often the best way to show off the look’s star accessory. In Diaz’s case, that meant opting for a pair of ribcage straight-leg jeans that look much more current than the skinny ankle jeans we wore with our ankle boots in the mid-2010s.
