1 dead, 13 hurt after lightning strike in Jackson Township, New Jersey

One person was killed and more than a dozen others were injured after being struck by lightning in the canton of Jackson, New Jersey on Wednesday.

It happened at the outdoor archery range of Black Knight Bowbenders just before 7:15 p.m.

Jackson’s canton police said that a 61 -year -old man died of his injuries and that 13 other people were injured. The youngest victim is 7 years old.

At least one victim suffered burns and at least one person was knocked out, while others said “not feeling good,” police said. The victims were taken to local hospitals to be treated.

The lightning of lightning occurred as the storms moved to the region, triggering a severe thunderstorm warning in the county of Ocean.

Lightning strikes New York and New Jersey

This is at least the third incident where people were struck by lightning in the three states region in the last month.
