Maurene Comey: prosecutor in Jeffrey Epstein case reportedly fired by DoJ | US news

The Ministry of Justice dismissed Maurene Comey, the daughter of former director of the FBI James Comey and a prosecutor in federal affairs against Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jeffrey Epstein, two people familiar with the case, the Associated Press told the Associated Press on Wednesday.
According to one of the people who spoke to the PA according to anonymity,
The Ministry of Justice and Comey did not immediately respond to the request for comments from the Guardian.
His dismissal occurs shortly after continuing Combs, which was acquitted of sex traffic and racketeering charges. The rapper was found guilty of offenses related to lower prostitution.
Comey also continued Epstein and her former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell for accusations of sex trafficking.
Earlier this month, Attorney General Pam Bondi has attracted the long-standing supporters of Donald Trump for a long time when she announced that the Ministry of Justice did not have a list of alleged Epstein customers. Laura Loodor, the 32 -year -old conspiracy theorist whose influence on Trump has been examined, accused Bondi of “covering sexual crimes for children”.
Calls to the Department to publish “Epstein files” have become stronger in recent days, the chamber president Mike Johnson, breaking with the president on Tuesday.
Trump was unleashed on Wednesday on his supporters in a long post on social networks, calling them “weak” gullible who had fallen for a “radical left” hoax by the Democrats to discredit him.
The Ministry of Justice recently seemed to recognize the existence of an investigation into James Comey, although the basis of this investigation is not clear. He was suddenly licensed by Trump during his first administration in 2017.
James Comey was the director of the FBI when Trump took office in 2017, having been appointed by President Barack Obama at the time and was before the post of first official of the Ministry of Justice in the administration of President George W Bush. But his relationship with Trump was tense from the start, and Comey resisted a request from Trump during a private dinner to hire personal loyalty to the president – an opening that annoyed the director of the FBI so much that he documented it in a contemporary memorandum.
Shortly after, Trump dismissed Comey in the midst of an investigation into the potential ties between Russia and Trump’s presidential campaign. This investigation, later taken up by the special council Robert Mueller, would finally note that, although Russia interfered with the 2016 elections and that the Trump team praised the aid, there was not enough evidence to prove a criminal collaboration.
Trump’s fury against the older comey continued long after having fired him from the office, blaming him for a “hoax” and a “witch hunt” which throws a shadow on a large part of his first mandate.
Comey revealed contemporary memos of his conversations with Trump to a friend so that their content could be revealed to the media, and the following year, he published a book calling Trump “focused on ego” and comparing it to a mafia don.
Trump, for his part, accused Comey and other treason officials.
