There’s a new affordable 100-inch mini-LED TV in town — but would you go for this Toshiba when you can get Hisense and TCL’s best TVs for way cheaper?

  • Toshiba launches Z670R mini-LED TV with Fire TV
  • 4K 144Hz and variable refresh rate support for gaming
  • Available in 55, 65, 75 and 100-inch options, from $1,299 to $3,999

Toshiba has launched a new premium-but-not-too-premium mini-LED TV, called the Z670R. It’s available in five sizes: 55, 65, 75, 85 and 100 inches. But while the specification is decent, the pricing makes it more expensive than rivals from the likes of Hisense and TCL by quite some margin: the 100-incher is $3,999 compared to around $2,200-$2,500 for rivals that we’ve reviewed very strongly.

That means it could be a tough sell, because while Toshiba describes this new TV as delivering “a premium viewing and gaming experience” that’s not really what the brand is known for these days. It’s mostly a budget brand that makes perfectly decent low-priced TVs — and this Fire TV is going head to head with some very good and even more affordable Google-powered options.
