3 fantastic Netflix movies to watch this week (March 23

March is usually a slow month for new films. This comes after “Dumpuary” and before the summer blockbuster season. Credit goes to Netflix, which used March to its advantage by releasing several anticipated films on its 2026 slate.

The first Netflix movie on this list is from a famous TV series starring the iconic character Tommy Shelby. It continues the events of the series and closes the door on this iteration of the Shelby family. The upcoming film features one of Hollywood’s best action heroes working today. The Other Movie is one of the most memorable romantic comedies of the last 15 years.

You know when people say, “They don’t make them like that anymore?” That’s how I feel about romantic comedies. Unfortunately, it is a dying genre. Romantic comedies once made stars and resurrected careers. Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal, Hugh Grant, Richard Gere and Tom Hanks have all elevated their reputations in Hollywood with hit romantic comedies.

Although only released in 2011, Crazy, stupid, love it feels like a blast from the past. It’s a romantic comedy filled with recognizable stars, including Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Marisa Tomei and Kevin Bacon. When his wife (Moore) files for divorce, Cal (Carell) tries dating, but to no avail. Enter Jacob (Gosling), an arrogant playboy who takes Cal under his wing and teaches him the art of picking up girls. Meanwhile, Jacob begins to question his own antics after meeting Hannah (Emma Stone).

The chemistry between some couples – Carell and Gosling, and Gosling and Stone – jumps off the screen. Charm reaches an all-time high. It’s impossible to watch the apartment scene between Gosling and Stone without smiling. This film also features an underrated twist that happened at a time when spoiler culture didn’t spoil surprises. I would do anything to get studios to make more movies like this.

Alan Ritchson vs. Machine

If you’re choosing an actor to take on an alien machine, Alan Ritchson is definitely one of the first names that comes to mind. Ritchson brought swift justice to the bad guys Reach for three seasons. Now, Ritchson is heading to the military to take on his toughest challenge yet: a gigantic robot. War machine.

A staff sergeant known as “81” (Ritchson) enters the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) in hopes of becoming an Army Ranger, one of the most difficult positions to obtain in the military. 81 survives the majority of the grueling training process until he and a small group of recruits reach their final challenge. This is supposed to be a simulated mission. When the recruits arrive on the scene, they are greeted by a war machine that intends to kill everything in its path. It is no longer a training mission; it’s a battle to survive, and 81 becomes the de facto leader.

War machine it’s like Jack Reacher joining the cast of Lone Survivor and fought the Terminator. It looks like a video game, and in a way, War machine is one. Ritchson continues to flourish in this genre, so take the time to dedicate yourself to the battle between man and machine.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

Tommy Shelby returns home

What a ride it’s been for Peaky Blinders. 13 years ago, Cillian Murphy first introduced the world to Tommy Shelby, the cold-blooded leader of Birmingham’s Peaky Blinders gang. Tommy is a gangster in every sense of the word. The series ended after its sixth season in 2022. Yet creator Steven Knight still had more story to tell, so he wrote a feature film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

The film shifts to 1940, as World War II intensifies. Tommy now lives isolated after leaving his old life. However, the past is hard to bury, especially when it comes in the form of an illegitimate son, Duke (Barry Keoghan). With Duke in charge, the Peaky Blinders head down the wrong path, one that might involve helping Nazi Germany. Unable to stay away, Tommy returns home to save his son and his gang from falling under fascist influence.

The last sentence might sound like a political thriller. Believe me, it’s always Peaky Blindersmany of these problems will be resolved through violence. The immortal man is the movie Tommy Shelby deserved. Luckily, Knight continues the series with a new generation of Shelby, so expect more Peaky Blinders in the future.
