Britain’s hazel dormice are becoming lighter in spring but larger in autumn as our climate changes, new research in Scientific Reports suggests. The study, titled “The effects of climate and land cover on the body mass of the hazel dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius) in space and time,” used 30 years of data on the weight of the dormouse at different times of the year.
