In a Move That Will Surprise Exactly No One, Iran Reportedly Rejects US 15-Point Peace Proposal – RedState

On Tuesday, we reported that the U.S. had sent a 15-point peace plan to Iran through Pakistani intermediaries. On Wednesday, reports indicate that what’s left of the regime after Operation Epic Fury has rejected the plan and is offering a five-point plan of their own.

Although the United States has wiped out most of their military power and their top leaders, Iran still seems to think they hold the cards in this conflict.

It’s unclear who’s actually in charge over there (the newly-named Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has not been seen in public and is rumored to be severely injured or even dead, while many theorize that Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqher Ghalibaf is calling the shots).

Whoever it is, they reportedly have their own ideas on how to end the hostilities:

Iran on Wednesday rejected the United States’ 15-point peace proposal to end the war in West Asia and instead issued its own five-point ceasefire proposal, calling for war reparations and sovereignty over Strait of Hormuz, Tehran’s state media reported.

Iran’s Press TV, quoting a senior political-security official on Wednesday, reported that Tehran is insisting the end of conflict will only occur on Tehran’s own terms and timeline. “Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met,” the official was quoted as saying.

The report comes after Pakistan transmitted American proposal to Iran.

The end of the war will occur when Iran decides it should end, not when Trump envisions its conclusion,” the Islamic regime-controlled media announced, citing a senior official.

According to Iranian media, which is even more untrustworthy than our own mainstream press, Iran has countered with a plan of their own:

Iranian state television’s English-language broadcaster, Press TV, quoted an anonymous official as saying Iran rejected America’s ceasefire proposal. Press TV’s report came after Pakistan transmitted the proposal to Iran.

“Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met,” Press TV quoted the official as saying. The official added Tehran will continue its “heavy blows” across the Mideast.

According to Iranian media, those five conditions are:

  • A full halt to “aggression and assassinations” by the enemy.
  • Concrete guarantees that war will not be imposed on Iran again.
  • Guaranteed and clearly defined war reparations.
  • An end to the war across all fronts, including for all resistance groups in the region.
  • International recognition and guarantees of Iran’s sovereign authority over the Strait of Hormuz.

Good luck with that one. Trump is unlikely to bow to those demands and is, in fact, sending more troops to the region:

“They CAN NOT declare on the United States… our mission will be ACCOMPLISHED.”

There are likely to be more confusing and contradictory reports as the fog of war makes clear information hard to come by. The remaining Iranian leaders are struggling to coordinate as the U.S. has taken out much of their infrastructure and command and control, and they can’t meet in person because they’ll likely be blown to smithereens.

They can continue talking smack, but with each passing day, they have less and less power to back it up.

Editor’s Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
