There is nothing better than slipping into the bed after a long exhausting day. However, this feeling of comfort and calm can only strike its peak when your sheets are really clean. If it’s been a while since you washed your bedding for the last time, you could curl up in more than comfortable sheets. Bedding can quietly collect all kinds of things you don’t want to think too often, such as sweating, dead skin cells, body oils and mites.

Your pillowcases can be even worse, especially if you wear makeup, use hair products or apply skin care at night. Over time, this accumulation can cause skin irritation and even disturb your sleep quality. What is the best way to wash my sheets?

Most sheets are machine washable and are not really hassle to clean. Cotton and linen sheets are particularly easy, while silk and satin are a little more capricious, requiring cold temperatures and slow rotation cycles. It is best to always check the care label on your sheets, but it is the best method for washing most of the sets of sheets:

1. Do not submerge the machine

It can be tempting to simply throw each pillowcase, an adjusted sheet and a duvet directly in the machine, but throw everything at the same time maybe too much and you might not be a good clean. I recommend washing the adjusted and flat leaves with your pillowcases, then washing any duvet, shortpoint or heavier blanket separately.

Certainly do not throw clothes or towels with your bedding, because it could leam to color or have zipper pimples and closings that will damage delicate sheets.

2. Check the label

I always recommend checking the ideal washing temperature for washing temperature because certain tissues can shrink in washing. It is preferable to use the hottest temperature that the leaves can tolerate, because hot water most effectively kills germs and bacteria. Cold cycles may not completely get rid of grime.

Polyester mixtures are the best in lukewarm water, while cotton can tolerate hot water. Silk and satin sheets should be washed on a cold and soft cycle.

3. separate by color

Separate your sheets by color to preserve the colors and prevent the transfer of dye. This means that you should make sure you put light and dark color sheets together before washing.

4. Check the sheets for stains

5. Measure the detergent

Less is generally more when using the detergent. Too much detergent can lead to the machine using excess water or cause accumulation in washing machine pipes. Most detergents are acceptable to use on cotton and linen sheets, but choose a detergent for delicate fabrics to wash silk and satin leaves. There are many silk or satin detergents on the market.

A good basic rule is to use 2 ounces (1/4 cup) or a half-corks filled with liquid laundry detergent for a regular bedding load. You can also use 4 ounces (1/2 cup) or 1 complete liquid detergent cap for a larger load of larger items.

I also recommend jumping the fabric softener because it can weaken the fabric.

6. Dry completely

For most leaves, you can use the dryer over low to medium heat. Satin and silk sheets would do better to dry in the air because they can be easily damaged even on a low drying cycle.

You can also throw a few danner bullets with your bedding, because they allow gaps, helping the larger sheets to dry more quickly and evenly (I always hate when I think I am finally ready to make my bed and I realize that a whole section is always wet to be grouped).

You can avoid cleaning your sheets as often by getting used to it in bed, not sleeping with your pet and cuddling in sheets after a shower. This may seem like a problem to strip your bed every week, but it is well worth the additional effort, so you can sleep and relax a little more easily.

Although you can wash the sheets and clothes together, many experts recommend washing them separately to prevent clothes from getting caught in the sheets and not being carefully washed.
