Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that they would hire $ 1 million for financial aid for immigrant families “affected by recent events in the region”.

The announcement, made on Friday, did not specify exactly what the “recent events” made reference, but this happens in the middle of the federal raids during immigration targeting migrants in the region and calls from the dodgers’ fans so that the organization is addressed against them.

“What is happening in Los Angeles has repercussions among thousands and thousands of people, and we heard the calls for us to play a leading role on behalf of the affected people,” said Dodgers, Stan Kasten, in a statement.

“We believe that by initiating resources and taking measures, we will continue to support and raise the communities of the Grand Los Angeles.”

The announcement said that the Dodgers would work with the city of Los Angeles and that in the coming days, made more announcements with community organizations and local workwormists who support families with health and mental health services.

The Federal Immigration Application has sparked event demonstrations in Los Angeles this month and ongoing legal challenges on President Trump’s decision to send the national guard troops to the city.

The mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, who strongly criticized the intervention of the Trump administration, was also quoted in the declaration of the Dodgers.

“In recent weeks have been shocked by fear that get up in all neighborhoods and have had a direct impact on our economy,” she said. “My message to all Angelenos is clear: we will stay together during this period and we will not turn our back on each other – this is what makes it the largest city in the world.”

Action at the stadium

The financial commitment occurred one day after the Dodgers ended up in a word war with the immigration authorities.

Thursday morning, several vehicles were seen parked near the stadium and five people in tactical equipment were gathered nearby, according to Laish, who reported that demonstrators and the media then came to the scene.

“This morning, ice agents came to the Dodger Stadium and asked for permission to access the car parks,” the Dodgers wrote in an article on X. “They were refused to enter the organization.”

Responding to X, the Los Angeles branch of application and dismissal operations, which operates in the ice, denied the report of the Dodgers.

“False. We were never there,” wrote the agency.

The Ministry of Internal Security also posted on X that the activity “had nothing to do with the Dodger”.

“CBP vehicles were very briefly in the stadium parking lot, unrelated to any operation or application,” wrote the ministry.

Trump clearly indicated that he wanted the ice to continue to target Los Angeles and put heat on other cities with a majority of democratic leadership.

“Ice officers are in the course of order, by advice [post]To do everything in their power to achieve the very important objective of providing the biggest mass expulsion program in history, “posted the president on TRUTH Social.

“To achieve this, we must expand efforts to hold and expel illegal foreigners in the largest American cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, where millions of illegal foreigners reside.”
