The United States began to build a new “secondary” wall at its southwest border with Mexico to strengthen an existing steel fence that divides the two countries.
The wall of approximately 7 miles (11 km) is under construction in the state of new-mexic and is part of a plan to fill “critical” gaps on the border and improve security operations, according to a press release published by customs and the protection of American borders.
In June, the Secretary in the United States of internal security, Kristi Noem, published new derogations for the construction of approximately 36 miles (58 km) from New Border Wall in Arizona and New Mexico.
