Iranian Official Says Strait of Hormuz Is Closed Again Because Trump Violated the Deal – RedState

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament has declared the opening of the Strait of Hormuz null and void. In a tweet posted on X, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accused President Trump of violating the agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz and said the strait was now closed.
“As the blockade continues, the Strait of Hormuz will not remain open.”
Meanwhile, CENTCOM said today it would continue the blockade until Trump tells it not to. https://t.co/1zFz6q3MVt

Ghalibaf said:
1- The President of the United States made seven statements in one hour, all seven of them false.
2- They did not win the war with these lies, and they certainly will not succeed in negotiations either.
3- With the continuation of the blockade, the Strait of Hormuz will not remain open.
What he is referring to is the announcement from US Central Command that the blockade continues:

They are also upset by USCENTCOM’s release of a contraband list and by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine’s statement Thursday that U.S. forces will pursue blockading forces out of USCENTCOM’s area of operations.
The United States reserves the right to search all Iranian ships, sanctioned ships and ships suspected of carrying a list of contraband items, according to a notice to US Central Command sailors on Thursday.
The contraband items include weapons, ammunition, explosives and military equipment, the notice said. Conditional smuggling – that is, contraband intended to aid Iranian military operations – includes crude oil, nuclear materials, metals and machinery. A full list is included in the blockade update.
To that end, the United States will pursue ships outside the U.S. Central Command response zone, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine told reporters Thursday.

To be honest, I don’t know what this Ghalibaf guy does when he’s up and in his pants, and I don’t know what clout he wields in a government that has had more heads of state in the last six weeks than Elizabeth Taylor has had husbands. He has the largest official presence on Iranian social media, so I guess someone is paying attention to him.
Although we don’t know what was discussed between the U.S. and Iranian negotiators, I think we can be fairly certain that the CJCS would not unilaterally announce a policy that goes against something agreed to by Vice President Vance’s team and the Iranians.
We’ll know within 24 hours if this guy is real or imaginary. We see with increasing frequency Iranian officials playing to a domestic audience by announcing things that are clearly not true while behaving like a whipped dog in private.
Because President Trump opened the Strait of Hormuz and accomplished his signature (Trump applauds the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz during the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire – but there is a big problem – RedState), we can be sure that he will not let any changes in the terms and conditions go unanswered; see Trump warns left: ‘This administration makes no apologies for American power’ – RedState.
For decades, past presidents have done nothing but talk. Now, Donald Trump eliminates the Iranian threat once and for all.
