US Senator Announces Daughter’s Death At 36

Virginia Democratic Senator Mark Warner announced the death of his daughter at the age of 36.
Warner’s daughter, Madison, died from long-term complications related to juvenile diabetes and other health issues, according to a statement the senator released on X Monday morning.
“We are heartbroken beyond words by the passing of our beloved daughter, Madison, 36, after a decades-long battle with juvenile diabetes and other health issues,” Warner said in a statement on profound loss.”

Madison suffered from Type 1 diabetes, a chronic autoimmune disease that affects more than 1.7 million Americans, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Complications such as heart or kidney disease, neuropathy, and stroke can occur as a result of this condition. The disease requires lifelong insulin therapy and blood sugar monitoring because it causes a lack of insulin production in the body.
Warner and his wife, Lisa, share two other daughters, Eliza and Gillian. The lawmaker has been serving in the Upper House since January 6, 2009, and is seeking re-election for a fourth term in November.
