‘Drop the TDS and Build the White House Ballroom’

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) called on Democrats to “abandon” their Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) following a shooting at the Washington Hilton Hotel on Saturday, and called on Democrats to support construction of the White House Ballroom.
Fetterman shared a screenshot of a Mediaite article by journalist Joe DePaolo about how security at the hotel, where the Washington Correspondents’ Dinner was held, was “terrible.” In a job on
“We were there at the forefront,” Fetterman wrote in his post. “This venue was not built to host an event with the line of succession of the US government. After witnessing it last night, ditch the TDS and build the White House Ballroom for events exactly like these.”
Fetterman’s message comes after gunshots were heard at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday evening, leading Trump, first lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance and other Cabinet officials who were attending the event to be escorted from the room.
People attending the event were seen hiding under their tables after gunshots were heard during the event.
Hours after the shooting, at a news conference, Trump explained that the Washington Hilton Hotel was “not a particularly secure building” and stressed the need for a White House ballroom.
Simon Kent of Breitbart News reported that a federal appeals court ruled that construction of the White House Ballroom can move forward, after a judge previously halted “part of the $400 million project.”
U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro said the suspect behind the shooting “is in custody” and “will be arraigned on two charges,” NBC News reported.
The suspect was allegedly “charged at a Secret Service checkpoint in the hotel lobby, armed with multiple weapons,” according to law enforcement, the outlet reported.
