Trump Says He Just Got Another Offer From Iran, As They Scramble in Face of Blockade – RedState

President Donald Trump told reporters on Saturday that he would consider a new offer from Iran to end the conflict.

“I look at him [on the plane]. I’ll tell you later,” he said. “They told me about the concept of the deal. They’re going to give me the exact wording now.”
He added that they were not necessarily obligated to make a deal with Iran. But if the United States left now, it would take Iran 20 years to rebuild. However, he said something very important: “We are going to do this so that no one has to go back in two or five years.”
This looks like a commitment to try to get it now, while they have Iran on the ropes, so that we don’t have to return to the issue later.

Trump also chastised a reporter for asking whether he would resume military strikes. He then clarified that this issue could still be on the table if he deemed it necessary, if they [Iran] “behave badly” or “do something wrong”.

“It’s a possibility that could definitely happen,” he said.
He then posted a message on his Truth Social account, wondering if their offer would be good enough.

He posted that he “can’t imagine this [the deal] would be acceptable as they have not yet paid a high enough price for what they have done to humanity and the world over the past 47 years. »
That’s a few different offers in just a few days from Iran. This tells me that they are in a difficult situation and that they are trying to find what will allow the blockade to be lifted. So the question is how quickly they will crack, and time is already running out.
Miad Maleki, a former senior sanctions strategist and senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said in a recent interview on Fox News’ Fox Report that U.S. sanctions and military blockades work.
He noted that the United States had a level of influence not seen since 1979, with the regime facing pressures comparable only to those of the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s.
While Iran’s dictatorship has historically ignored public opinion, Maleki warned that the regime was running out of time, facing looming oil storage problems and gasoline shortages.
To quell domestic uprisings, the Iranian government shut down the internet for nearly two months, costing the economy an estimated $50 million per day. In addition, the US blockade drains approximately $435 million per day in lost imports and exports.
“They might be able to continue in a few days or weeks, but I don’t think they can continue to stay in this kind of situation for more than a month or two,” Maleki said.
This is a developing story. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
Editor’s note: For decades, past presidents have done nothing but talk. Now, Donald Trump eliminates the Iranian threat once and for all.
