Rudy Giuliani was hospitalized and is in critical condition, according to his spokesperson, Ted Goodman.

“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he is fighting with that same level of strength as we speak,” Goodman wrote on X Sunday.

“We ask that you join us in prayer for U.S. Mayor Rudy Giuliani,” Goodman added.

The spokesperson did not say why the 81-year-old former New York mayor was hospitalized, or to which hospital he was admitted.

President Donald Trump confirmed Sunday that Giuliani had been hospitalized, in a political message aimed at Democrats.

“Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a true warrior and the best mayor in the history of New York City, by far, has been hospitalized and is in critical condition,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the crazy radical left, Democrats ALL – AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated in the election, fabricated hundreds of stories, did everything they could to destroy our nation, and now look at Rudy. So sad!” Trump added.

Giuliani, who served as Trump’s personal attorney, represented Trump in lawsuits seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 election. He was disbarred in New York and Washington, D.C. due to his involvement in those efforts.

He also faced state charges in Georgia and Arizona for his actions after the 2020 election, and was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in special counsel Jack Smith’s federal election interference case against Trump. The former mayor denied the allegations.
