Dems in NY, CA, NJ Will ‘Make Sure’ Congressional Maps ‘Fair As Possible’

Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY )’s minority chief (D-NY) said on Monday on CNN’s “domestic policy” on Monday the Democrats in New York, California and New Jersey “would ensure that Congress cards are as fair as possible”.

Discussing the republicans potentially of changes in Texas, Jeffries said: “They do not have credible success stories, which is why the Républicains de la Chambre are afraid of voters in 2026, in mid-term elections. And they are trying to cheat to win.”

The journalist Manu Raju said: “I spoke to certain members of your delegation, the Democrats who want New York to change the cards to try to add seats, democratic seats in New York. Do you support this effort in your state?”

Jeffries said, “Let me just say that cards in New York are not as fair as they could be.”

Raju said, “You have just accused the Republicans to fuel the elections by changing the lines in the middle of the decade. Wouldn’t Democrats do the same? ”

Jeffries said: “Well, we are committed to doing as a Democrats in New York, California, New Jersey, across the country, ensures that Congress cards are as fair as possible.”
