A suspected gunman was shot and killed by federal law enforcement near the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and taken into custody with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities. A teenager suspected of being a tourist was also hit and scratched by a ricochet bullet, according to a federal official. Shortly before, Vice President JD Vance’s motorcade had just passed through the area where the gunfire erupted. NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell reports for TODAY.
