Katie Porter Accidentally Admits The Real Reason Democrats Want Sanctuary Cities

California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter inadvertently revealed the real reason left-wing politicians are pushing for sanctuary cities.
Porter dropped the mask during Tuesday night’s gubernatorial debate and admitted that illegal immigration is one of the “only ways to [California] “has increased in recent years,” apparently accepting the replacement of U.S. residents with foreigners. Notably, the deep blue state has hosted millions of illegal immigrants while an estimated 10 million California residents have fled the state over the past decade.
“It’s the job of the governor of California to protect every Californian,” Porter said. “The sanctuary state policy is designed to ensure that our state’s resources, the taxpayer dollars and the public officials we have, focus on their job, which is not cooperating with federal immigration authorities. » (RELATED: Katie Porter’s New Ad Gets Voters to Admit Democratic Leadership Has Failed Them)
“They’re Californians,” Porter said of illegal immigrants. “They contribute to our economy, they pay taxes and they are one of the only ways our state has grown in recent years.”

Porter is one of several candidates vying to succeed California’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom. She is one of eight Democrats vying for the coveted post, but her past tenure in the House of Representatives does not appear to improve her chances in the crowded primary. Porter is polling at 9% at press time, putting the former representative in 5th place behind two other Democrats and the two Republican candidates, according to RealClearPolling averages. Porter’s poll numbers have barely changed despite former California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell’s alleged sex scandal, which caused the once-formidable candidate to drop out of the race and resign from Congress altogether.
