FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — For Julian Hill, it truly is coming full circle as the tight end finally gets the opportunity to play with an NFL star he grew up idolizing.

Linebacker Harold Landry and Hill have a connection that takes them back to their hometown.

“We went to the same high school, same area. I was in eighth grade, he was a senior at the time,” Hill told reporters Thursday. “They had a really phenomenal year. Obviously Harold was a big recruit coming out of high school. So I get a chance to play with him.”

So when he officially signed a three-year contract with the New England Patriots, Hill revealed that his high school head coach called him and Landry, expressing how excited he was about them being on the same team.

“This is the first time I’ve had the chance to really meet him. Great guy, great competitor,” he said. “I’ve faced him a few times. He’s a tough guy to block. But I’m excited to work with him, go against him. Just get better and represent where we come from.”

“He was a guy that you’re always trying to plot because he can be a game changer, a game changer,” Hill added. “Just seeing him do what he did, that’s who he is. He’s not in this position; he’s not in this year that he’s in right now with the money that he has for nothing. So, this is a guy that represents him in the right way.”
